The Education Department

There are no guided tours of the Historial but the Education Department exists to help teachers make the best use of their visit, and is active in the area of teacher training.

Teachers are encouraged to contact the members of the department (all of them teachers from different backgrounds) for any questions they may have concerning the preparation of their visit.

Worksheets have been prepared by the Education Department. They are designed to help teachers make the best use of their visite. Most relate to specific displays, but a few require the pupils to work in more than one hall. These worksheets may be photocpied for use by pupils.

 

How to find one’s way around the museum :

The museum opened in 1992. It was thought out with the support of Europeans historians, some First World War specialists. The collections are composed of thousands of objects, posters, postcards, weapons, uniforms, and so on. The Historial of The Great War takes an international and comparatist look at the first world conflict.

The museum is made of five halls dedicated to the ongoing exhibition:

You will find in this part of the website several pedagogical materials. They contain worksheets that have been translated by an experimentated guide, a native speaker. The thematics they are related to, have also been adapted to the british culture.
